Reading English documents, I have often seen the phrase "it is due to the fact that...".

Following the users in [1], this phrase means this is because simply. But we should avoid using it in formal writing because it is a clumsy and wordy substitute [2]. However, there exists some explanations that it is an acceptable structure [3].
